Course overview
The aim of this module is to enable you to analyse lists of data without creating repetitive formulae, and use Excel features to display summary information.

Who should attend
Delegates should feel confident in the topics covered in the Excel Basic Formulas and Excel Sorting and Filtering Data Lists modules.

Learning outcomes
At the end of the module, you will be able to:
• Arrange data lists with hidden rows/columns and grouped, to display detailed or summarized results
• Use subtotals with automated outlining and grouping, to investigate the most effective method of presenting data lists
• Practice using functions appropriate for use in data lists to analyse data efficiently

Grouping and outlining data lists
Understanding hiding and showing rows and columns
How to layout a data list for grouping and outlining, e.g. creating outline headings
Understanding how to group and ungroup data lists
Using hide and show detail
Selecting visible cells
Using auto outline
Group and outline settings
Using subtotals
Using subtotals to automate outlining and basic functions within a data list
Removing subtotals
Using functions in data lists
Using the SUBTOTAL function in data lists
Understanding how to create database functions, e.g. DSUM, DAVERAGE, DMAX, DMIN, DCOUNT
