The aim of this module is to enable you to create charts to illustrate and compare data in your Microsoft Office documents.

Learning outcomes
At the end of the module, you will be able to:
• Create charts within Office documents using the Charts commands on the Ribbon
• Investigate the most appropriate style to communicate the data
• Edit charts changing style, options, size and location to display the data in the most effective manner
• Design 3D charts showing elevation, rotation and perspective techniques presenting information to make an impact on the viewer

Creating a chart based on a contiguous and non-continuous range of data
Inserting a chart using the Insert Chart commands
Understanding the best chart types to use

Editing a chart
Using the Chart Tools to change the type, data, layout and style of charts
Changing the chart type, e.g. column, line, pie, bar
Changing the data source and switching columns and rows
Adding chart and axes titles
Applying gridlines
Re-positioning the legend
Applying data labels
Adding a data table
Changing the chart location, e.g. creating a chart on a separate worksheet in Excel
Formatting the chart, e.g. font, colour, fill effects

Creating 3-D effects
Changing the elevation, rotation and perspective of a 3D chart
