Course overview
This is a very accessible course, which looks more deeply into the main concepts of Equal Opportunities and Diversity and the related challenges faced by managers.

Who should attend
Recommended for staff who need to evidence Equality and Diversity at KSF Level 3 or 4.
Due to the high level if interaction and group work, the optimum number of participants is 15.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the session participants will:
• Have a good understanding of the similarities and differences between equal opportunity and diversity
• Have an overview of the current legislation governing equality and diversity
• Understand how equality impacts on all our strategic disciplines
• Have an overview of the tools necessary for an equality impact assessment

Training style
The workshop will be highly interactive, encouraging participation and making use of exercises, discussions and group work. Practical and relevant examples will be used as a springboard to help apply knowledge and understanding to real-life scenarios. A healthy balance of trainer input and a variety of practical activities ensure adult learning principles are met.

Course materials
Handouts and worksheets are provided to each participant to support topics covered on the workshop. Certificates of attendance will be presented to each participant after training has been completed
