Who is it for
This course is designed for NHS employees. The recommended maximum is
12 delegates.
Course overview
The course will cover all the statutory and mandatory training required
by your NHS staff. This will enable them to gain all the refresher training
they require in one day, rather than having to attend several shorter
sessions, and has potential time and cost savings both for the course
organiser and course delegate.
The course will be tailored to comply with your PASA
(Purchasing and Supply Agency) requirements. It generally includes Health
& Safety (including Fire Safety and Infection Control), Moving and
Handling, Basic Life Support, Food Hygiene.
Course materials
Handouts and worksheets are provided to each delegate to support topics
covered on the workshop. Certificates of attendance will be presented
to each delegate after training has been completed.
Course contents
The contents would depend on local agreements but could include:
• 2 hours Health and Safety including Fire Safety and Infection Control
• 2 hours Moving and Handling
• 1.5 hours Basic Life Support
• 1 hour Food Hygiene (optional)
Training style
The course will be highly interactive, encouraging participation and making
use of exercises, discussions and group work. There will be the opportunity
for skills practice and review in each section. Practical and relevant
examples will be used as a springboard to help apply knowledge and understanding
to real-life scenarios. A healthy balance of trainer input and a variety
of practical activities ensure adult learning principles are met.
