Overview
This course is aimed at newcomers to audio and video on the web, and also
for those with some prior experience of multimedia. The course introduces
the concepts of video and audio capturing and editing in Premier 5.1,
encoding audio and video in Real Media and Quicktime and integrating streaming
media into a web site.
Although some knowledge, or background in multimedia (sound and video
production, editing, photography etc) is not strictly necessary for creating
audio and video content for the web, it is desirable. We cover the streaming
technologies currently in use on the web including Real Media, Quicktime
and to a lesser degree, Windows Media.
Delegate Requirements
Basic knowledge of web production
Some knowledge, or background in multimedia (sound and video production, editing, photography etc) is desirable but not essential
Hardware Requirements
Multimedia PCs or Macintosh with minimum
300mhz processor and at least 1gb free disk space Premier 5.1 with at
least one machine capable of video capture, ie PC with capture card or
Macintosh G3 (blue and white) with firewire connectivity A VCR, deck or
DV camera connected to the capture computer, configured for capture in
Premier 5.1, (firewire connection for Macs) Internet connection ISDN +
Software Requirements
MediaCleaner 4 or 5 (if not RealProducer Plus)
RealPlayer 8
QuickTime Player Pro
Dreamweaver or FrontPage
Internet Explorer v4 or higher and Netscape Navigator v4 or higher
Other Requirements
An FTP program to upload web files to server
