Course overview
Assistive technology products are essential for disabled staff to do their everyday jobs. This course has been designed to educate personnel who support disabled staff working with assistive technology.

This course will be tailored to your organisation's specific requirements, based on the market you operate in, the number of people you employ, the assistive technology you use, and your disability policy or guidelines. If your organisation does not have a disability policy the training could help you formulate one.

• To ensure support staff have seen the assistive technology products they are expected to support within your organisation
• To ensure support staff understand the core purpose, functionality and application of the technology
• To ensure support staff understand the key principles of the Social Model of Disability and the Disability Discrimination Act
• To ensure support staff understand the main elements of your organisation's disability policy or guidelines
• To ensure support staff understand the acceptable language and etiquette when talking with disabled staff, and the challenges that those staff face while working in the organisation

Hardware products such as Notetakers, alternative keyboards, mice and switch devices
